THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER

THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER by Andrew Klavan is the third book in the Homelanders series from Thomas Nelson. However if you have not read the earlier two, (neither have I) you will not feel out of sorts with this one. The plot revolves around a young man in his late teens who has lost his memory of the past year. He is searching for a person who can help him to remember the past. He knows that he was sent to prison for the murder of his best friend, that he escaped from prison and became a member of a terrorist group, but he cannot accept his present state. He finds the man who can clear things up for him but is not sure whether he is a friend or an enemy. Throughout his ordeal, he relies on the Lord to guide him through.

The book is an excellent read and will keep you hooked for hours. Though it falls under juvenile fiction, most will find it interesting. There are two books that were written prior to this book -"The Last Thing I Remember" and "The Long Way Home" if you can get hold of them read them too.

SEEDS OF TURMOIL

Seeds of Turmoil’, The biblical roots of the inevitable crisis in the Middle East by Bryant Wright, provides one with a detailed perspective on the history of the unrest in the Middle East. Most people are aware of the tension In the Middle East but do not actually know about the background of the conflict. It is the history of Abraham, Isaac and Ishmael, the founder fathers of three great religions and the actual source of all present day conflicts and chaos. Seeds of Turmoil’ enlightens one as to the extent of the role played by each, even though Abraham is the prime character, we get the full picture of the issue at hand. We are also enlightened about the historical, theological and religious aspects of this unending present day conflict. We may not be able to offer any possible solution to this crisis but at least we know how it came into being.

Seeds of Turmoil’ is an excellent book covering a very active topic. A must read for people who seek a deeper understanding of the issues around them.

OUTLIVE YOUR LIFE

I have just finished reading "Outlive Your Life" by Max Lucado. I have heard a lot about Max, an educator, philanthropist, minister, accomplished writer…the list goes on. However this is the first book of his that I read. In his said book through Acts and real-world examples, backed by Scripture and prayer, Max reminded me that it is possible for anyone to be used by God to bring about justice, answer needs, healing, and love. The message is not new - it's about helping others and what we go through to make decisions on when and how we act (and react), but the presentation of it really moved me and made me think.

I feel it is essential for those introspecting on their lives and actions.
